Mystic Woods Appeals Dismissed

Home /  Results /  Mystic Woods Appeals Dismissed

In separate decisions issued on February 9, 2011, Superior Court Judge Joseph Purtill dismissed appeals taken by a local environmental advocacy group and a handful of individuals from the approval by the Town of Groton Inland Wetlands Agency and Zoning Commission of inlands wetlands and zoning permits related to a proposed 55+ community to be known as Mystic Woods. The community is to be built on a site bounded by Flanders Road and Route 1. Attorney Michael Carey of Suisman Shapiro Wool Brennan Gray & Greenberg defended the Inland Wetlands Agency and the Zoning Commission in the appeals, writing extensive briefs and participating at length during the hearing conducted by Judge Purtill. No appeals have been taken from Judge Purtill’s decision, and the appeal period has expired.
