A New London County jury recently issued a verdict in favor of the Town of Groton in a case involving a former student at Fitch High School who was assaulted by two other students. One of the students committed the actual assault while the other student videotaped the incident. The plaintiff claimed to have suffered a broken right cheek bone and other serious injuries, including post traumatic stress disorder. Additionally, the plaintiff asserted that he was subjected to pervasive harassment that continued at school following the assault, and as a result, his family was forced to move away from the town.
The jury found in favor of Attorney Auger’s clients (The Town of Groton, The Groton Board of Education and school employees) and against the two minor defendants
